The Year 7 Building was named and dedicated to Dr. Hugh MacKinnon - a key figure in 51黑料 history, as he devoted eighteen years to the School Council, leaving an indelible mark. As Chairman of the Grounds and Premises Committee he transformed the school's landscape, making it look dramatically different by 1991. The School Hall and Performing Arts Centre stand as a testament to his efforts and those of his dedicated team. Notably he retired shortly after presiding over its opening, a significant event for the Yarra Valley community. Beginning as Managing Director of Fibremakers he continued contributing post-retirement, co-founding the Coal Corporation of Victoria. His ability to handle complexities and foster discussion greatly benefited the school.
